December Daily: 22nd

Today was the boys' last day at school before Christmas vacation, which meant party day for Zach's class!  I was in charge of planning the party with the help of other moms and one dad. We had so much fun!

We had four centers: winter board games, story time, snack, and craft, and then the whole class played a game.

For snack, we made Santa hats out of strawberries, cream cheese frosting and vanilla wafers:

The kids made handprint Santa ornaments and fingerprint reindeer cards. They turned out so cute!  I didn't get any pics of the crafts because I was up to my elbows in paint.

The party wrapped up with a snowball rely race. The kids divided into teams, and the first player on each team put on mittens, balanced a ball on a spoon, and raced to drop the ball into a bucket. We tried it first without the mittens and it was way too easy. It was a little harder -- and much funnier -- with the mittens.

Evan goes to our public school's pre-K program, and they don't do holiday parties. Its such a bummer! They do special seasonal and holiday activities though, and Evan enjoys those. While I was at Zach's party, Craig came home from work to get Evan off the bus, and they had lunch together. Evan loves it when Craig gets him off the bus!

Thursday evening, we drove around our neighborhood and a few others to check out Christmas lights. Here are a couple of our favorites, which were both in the same little  -- and completely decked out -- neighborhood.
