Christmas with My Family

On Saturday, we headed to my Mom’s house to celebrate Christmas with my mom, John, Aunt “Kay” (my sister’s name is Andrea, but the boys call her by her middle name, Kay, because Andrea is hard to say), and Uncle Bo. Unfortunately, I didn't get Uncle Bo's picture with the boys.

We had a very nice turkey dinner topped off with Bo’s delicious pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. Then it was time to open Christmas gifts. Of course everyone spoiled the boys. The each got some clothes, animals, puzzles, Little People, books, and a bowling set. When Evan opened a box and realized it was clothes, he quickly shoved the clothes and tissue paper back in the box and pushed the box away with a look of utter disdain on his face. It was something you’d expect from a ‘tween, not a two year old. Too funny! Evan’s favorite thing wasn’t a gift he received – it was a small snow globe from my Mom’s coffee table. Of course, Grandma ended up sending it home with us.
Evan stuffing the clothes back in the box as quickly as possible.

The boys, especially Zach, loves playing in my Mom’s toy room, which has lots toys Andrea and I used to play with, plus some new toys. Zach could spend all day in there, and we practically have to drag him out for meals. Even after we opened gifts, Zach wanted to go back in the toy room to play with the “old fashioned” toys. Poor Grandma was probably worn out from playing and “talking” the Little People and animals so much. John brought his Christmas Express train set for the boys to play with, and Zach especially enjoyed it.
Evan went home with Aunt Kay and Uncle Bo on Saturday night, and really enjoyed the one-on-one time. He didn’t seem to miss Zach or us, but he was happy to see us on Sunday.
Wishing you all a very Merry Chistmas and all the best for the New Year!
