Last day of school before Christmas break and winter party day! I signed up for Evan's party (I'll help with Zach's Valentine's Day party). They had a snack and made a cute picture frame craft, then we played a couple of games: hot present (like hot potato) and a gift wrapping relay race. The class divided into 2 teams, and each player had to unwrap the gift, then rewrap it, run back to the starting line and hand it to the next player. It was comical to watch 1st graders do this, and they kids really enjoyed it! Here's Evan in action during the relay:
After the party, Evan could have ridden home with me, but he wanted to ride the bus. Zach, on the other hand, came chasing after me in the hallway to see if he could ride home with me. Since I hadn't signed him out, he had to stay in the bus line...
The boys got out of school an hour early, which was nice because it was a busy week and we needed a little down time. After they rested a little, we delivered Christmas cards to the neighbors'. After dinner, Craig drove us around the neighborhoods in our area to look at Christmas lights. The boys have lots of ideas for our house next year. If they have their way, we'll be the next Griswolds!
