Green Thumbs

Last year at daycare, Zach planted tomato seeds and brought them home once they'd sprouted. He took good care of his plant all summer, and was so proud when his tomatoes ripened, and we ate them for dinner. Thanks to a perfect Easter gift, the boys will be growing tomatoes again this summer, as well as sunflowers. We're a little behind schedule in getting them planted, but we finally got around to it this week.

Zach has been interested in seeds, plants, flowers, and trees all Spring. Every time it rains, he tells me its going to make the flowers pop up and the plants grow bigger. Evan's mainly interested in picking anything he can get his hands on, including my daffodils, grass, leaves from the neighbor's bushes, and our perennials.
We're going to put the boys to work this weekend spreading mulch and planting annuals. Zach's already informed me that mulch "smells stinky" so I'm not sure he'll help mulch, but he'll definitely help plant. Evan loves to get dirty, so I'm sure he'll enjoy mulching and planting!
