Great Grandma's Birthday

Zach, Evan, my mom, sister, and I visited my grandmother in Florida to celebrate her 80th birthday. We left last Saturday morning, and the boys were great on the flight. We celebrated my grandma's birthday on Saturday evening with dinner at home. She made a delicious lemon cream cake and an angel food cake -- the boys were in dessert heaven!

On Sunday, we visited Homossassa Springs State Park, where we took a boat ride from the parking lot to the park. Inside the park, there's a zoo of native Florida wildlife, including manatee, bears, birds, deer, and crocodiles.

The weather was perfect for a visit to the beach on Monday. The boys enjoyed playing in the sand and watching the birds. Evan, of course, couldn't get enough of the water, and probably would have gone swimming if I'd let him.

Zach got sick on Tuesday, so we stuck close to home, then it was time to head home on Wednesday morning. We had a really nice visit with my grandma, and the boys enjoyed being spoiled by Grandma, Great Grandma, and Auntie! Unfortunately Great Grandma and Auntie caught Zach's bug and were under the weather for a few days after our trip.

Hanging out with Mitzi
