Last Fall, Zach played soccer with a boy named Levi, but we didn't really get to know him or his family until I met Sarah at our neighborhood bunco after soccer had ended. We both looked familiar to each other, but couldn't figure out where we might have met. Sarah and I started talking about scrapbooking at bunco, and she invited me to her house for a scrapbooking evening. It wasn't until Sarah recognized Zach in some pictures that we put two and two together. We've since become friends, and the boys ride the bus to Kindergarten together.
Sarah invited our family to go boating their family a couple of weeks ago. It was the perfect evening -- no wind, warm but not too hot, and the lake was deserted. The four kids couldn't wait to swim:

Then the kids had the opportunity to try the sit-and-ski. Levi and Anne are pros at it, but our kids had never done anything like it before. The sit-and-ski was really neat: the tow rope was attached to it, then it had a separate rope for the kids to hold. There was handle on the other end of the tow rope for us to hold, which meant we could let go if anything happened.
Evan had no interest in trying it, and Zach was interested but hesitant. Finally he decided he'd give it a try. He started out in the water with Craig holding onto the back of the sit-and-ski, then Craig let go when Zach felt comfortable.
Still not to sure...
Having fun!
I'm so proud of Zach for trying something new. He's really come out of his shell over the past year, and has been more outgoing and open to new experiences.
We had the nicest evening with our friends. Fun conversation, lots of swimming for the kids, and yummy dessert on the boat.
