World of Hope Gala

On Saturday, we attended Childvision's World of Hope Gala, which raised money for the Casa Guatemala orphanage. Our adoption agency, FTIA, established Childvision to support organizations around the world that serve kids who more than likely won't be adopted. Because FTIA covers all of Childvision's overhead expenses, 100% of the money raised goes directly to orphanages.

Our playgroup donated half of the money raised at the garage sale to Childvision at the Gala. Sandy did a great job presenting the check, and the audience was shocked to hear that a grand total of $4,000 was raised at a 3 day garage sale! The other $2,000 was donated to the Casa Bernabe orphange in Guatemala. Childvision hasn't released the total raised, but last year, the event brought in $100,000.

In addition to staffing one of the silent auctions, making a few bids, and visiting with friends, Craig and I celebrated our 9th anniversary, which also happens to be the day Evan's adoption decree was signed in Guatemala!
